Almost 30 blind or partially sighted children attend the Kibarani Primary School. All of them are boarding school pupils like many other children without low vision. When we visited in 2019, we were told that the school needs adaptive games and devices so that blind and partially sighted children can play together in leisure time.
The project was financed with €1,500 by the company that manufactures Piratoplast eye patches. See Africa made contact.
Adaptive card games and board games were bought for blind children and those who can see. Besides that, two slides and a carousel were constructed.
Special thanks go to the eye patch company Piratoplast and its children advisory board which ensures support for the project.
